Blue dress “Mixed patterns”

knitted dress

The dress is made using a knitting pattern. The work uses five different patterns. For work you will need 450 grams of blue yarn (70% cotton, 30% polyamide, 90m/50 grams), knitting needles No. 7, hook No. 6.

Hole strip: even number of loops. 1st and 2nd row: purl loops.
3rd row: *knit 2 stitches together, 1 yarn over, repeat from *.
4th row: We knit loops and yarn overs purlwise.
5th and 6th row: purl loops.
We knit 1 time from the 1st to the 6th row.

Pattern A: we knit according to pattern 1. We knit 2 times from the 1st to the 8th row, finishing with 2 rows of the front stitch.

Pattern B: the number of loops is a multiple of 4+2 edge loops.
1st row: facial loops.
2nd and 3rd row: purl loops.
4th row: *purl 3 stitches together, knit 1 from the next stitch, yarn over 1 and knit 1, repeat from*.
5th row: purl loops.
6th row: * from 1 loop we knit 1 knit, 1 yarn over and 1 knit, knit 3 loops together, purl, repeat from *.
We knit 1 time from the 1st to the 6th row, then repeat from the 3rd to the 6th row.

Pattern C: we knit according to pattern 2. We knit 1 time from the 1st to the 6th row, then repeat from the 3rd to the 6th row.
Attention! At the end of the pattern in the last purl row, do not yarn over, i.e. We knit all the loops purlwise.

Sequence of alternating stripes: 9.5 cm - pattern A, while in the last purl row we will decrease 1 loop, 2.5 cm - stripes of holes, 9 cm - pattern B, while in the 1st row we will add 2 loops and in the last purl row we will decrease 2 loops, 2.5 cm stripes of holes, 9 cm - pattern C, while in the 1st row we will decrease 2 loops, 2.5 cm stripes of holes, 6 cm - pattern D, while in the 1st row we will add 3 loops, and in the last purl row we will decrease 3 loops, 2.5 cm stripes of holes, 9 cm - pattern B, 2.5 cm strips of holes = 55 cm in total.

Attention! Due to different knitting densities and different numbers of loops, the width changes. The pattern takes this into account when calculating the armholes.

Description of knitting - knitted dress:

Back: cast on 71 loops and knit 2 cm for the placket using garter stitch, evenly adding 10 loops in the last purl row.

Then we knit in the indicated sequence, observing the indicated increases and decreases.

55 cm from the bar there are 78 loops in work. Next we knit with pattern C

After 2.5 cm from the end of the sequence we close 4 loops for the armholes on both sides and in each 2nd row 2x2 loops.

9 cm from the end of the sequence we knit 2.5 cm strips of holes and finish the back with stockinette stitch, while in the 1st row we evenly decrease 8 loops.

After 5.5 cm from changing the pattern, we close off the middle 26 loops for the neckline and finish both sides separately.

For rounding, we close 1x3 and 1x2 loops from the inner edge in every 2nd row.

After 8.5 cm from changing the pattern, close off the remaining 9 shoulder loops on each side.

Before: we knit in the same way, but for a deeper neckline we close the middle 16 loops 2 cm from changing the pattern and in every 2nd row 1x4, 1x3, 1x2 and 1x1 loops.

Assembly: We will sew shoulder and side seams. We tie the neckline and armhole 1 next to the “crawfish step”.
