Two-color jumper

Knit from a soft wool blend, this full-knit sleeve, high-neck jumper features a large asymmetrical copper-yellow pattern on a charcoal background.

You will need: 6 (7) 8 skeins of dark gray and 5 (6) 6 skeins of copper-yellow yarn (68% alpaca wool, 10% merino wool, 22% polyamide; 50 g/110 m); knitting needles No. 5; circular knitting needles No. 6, length 40 and 80 cm.

Attention: the product is knitted on circular needles in rows in forward and reverse directions.

Knitting technique.

Rubber: alternately knit 2, purl 2.

Facial surface: front rows - front loops, purl rows - purl loops; In circular rows, knit only facial loops.

Asymmetrical Pattern: knit according to patterns.

Knit 2 stitches together purlwise with a slant to the left: transfer first the 2nd, then the 1st loop to the right knitting needle, return it to the left knitting needle without changing their position, and knit together behind the back walls of the purl stitch.

Add 1 stitch with a slant to the right: knit 1 stitch from the next stitch of the previous row, then knit a loop of the working row.

Add 1 stitch with a slant to the left: knit 1 stitch from the previous stitch of the previous row, then knit a loop of the working row.

Knitting density, stockinette stitch on needles No. 6: 16 sts and 22 r. = 10 x 10 cm.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Back: On knitting needles No. 6, with a copper-yellow thread, cast on 78 (86) 94 sts, knit 3 rows for the bottom bar with an elastic band, and start with 2 purls. in the back row. Then continue working with stockinette stitch, changing the thread colors according to the pattern. When the back length is 46 cm (see diagram), cast on loops for sleeves on both sides: 6 stitches at the end of each row, 9 times for each sleeve. Then cast on another 20 (22) 24 sts = total on knitting needles 226 (238) 250 sts. After 15 (16) 17 cm from the outer edge of the sleeve (see diagram) at the beginning of the next 2 rows, loosely close 97 (102) 107 p. Transfer the remaining 32 (34) 36 p. to the auxiliary thread = loops for the collar.

Before: knit like a back.
Important: change thread colors in a mirror image. Increase for the collar: after knitting to the arrow marking the beginning of the collar (see diagram), increase with a slope to the right and an increase with a slope to the left (see description above) on both sides of 4 middle loops (increases are not shown in the diagram) in each 4th row = 8 rows in total with increases.

Assembly: connect the parts from the front side: with a mattress seam the longitudinal edges of the parts (= 1 row of one part with 1 row of another part), with a loop-to-loop seam - edges with closed loops. Without stretching, sew the shoulder seams and sew in the sleeves.
Sleeve trims: On knitting needles No. 5, using a copper-yellow thread, on the front side of the work (thread behind the work), cast on 1 stitch from each row, skipping every 6th row (the number of loops should be a multiple of 4 + 2 stitches). Switch to needles No. 6 and knit 3 rows with an elastic band, starting with 2 purls. Close the loops according to the pattern. Sew sleeve seams and side seams.
Collar: transfer the collar loops (from the front and back) to circular knitting needles No. 6 and knit with copper-yellow thread in stockinette stitch in the round = 80 (84) 88 sts in total. After 15 cm, knit 3 rows with an elastic band in the round: alternately 2 knits., 2 p. Close the loops according to the elastic pattern.
