Description of knitting a raglan pullover with openwork sleeves
The pullover is knitted from top to bottom in one piece.
Raglan
On needles No. 4, cast on 90 (90) 92 (92) 94 (94) stitches.
Purl 1st row, marking raglan lines, as follows: purl 1 front stitch, purl next 2 raglan stitches (mark these stitches), 19 knit sleeve stitches, 2 purl raglan stitches (mark these stitches), 42 ( 42) 44 (44) 46 (46) purl back loops, 2 purl raglan loops (mark these loops), 19 knit sleeve loops, 2 purl raglan loops (mark these loops), 1 purl front loop.
Next, knit in straight and reverse rows, knit the back and front parts in stockinette stitch, and the sleeves in an openwork pattern.
At the same time, make additions to round the neck of the front part and form bevels of the neck as follows:
1st row (knit) – knit the first loop of the front part first behind the front, then behind the back wall (= 1 loop + 1 loop), add 1 knit loop from the broach (= lift the transverse thread between the loops and knit a knit crossed loop), knit 2 knit stitches in raglan, add 1 knit stitch from the broach, then knit the sleeve loops in an openwork pattern (= 19 loops + 1 loop on both sides).
Then knit 2 knit stitches from the raglan, add 1 knit stitch from the broach, 42 (42) 44 (44) 46 (46) knit stitches from the back, add 1 knit stitch from the broach, 2 knit stitches from the raglan, knit the loops of the second sleeve in an openwork pattern (19 loops + 1 loop on both sides), 2 front raglan loops, add 1 front loop from the broach and knit the last loop of the front part first behind the front, then behind the back wall (= 1 loop + 1 loop).
10 loops added per row = 100 (100) 102 (102) 104 (104) loops.
Continue adding stitches on both sides of each raglan line in every 2nd row a total of 5 times (on the sleeve side, increases are made by widening the pattern).
When there are 29 stitches on the sleeves, continue to knit the added stitches along the edges of the openwork pattern using stockinette stitch.
Note: at the same time, continue to increase along the edges for the neckline in every 2nd row 4 more times 1 loop (knit the first and last loops of the row first to the front, then to the back wall).
Further
Then add 2 stitches twice. At the end of the next knit row, cast on new 22 (22) 24 (24) 26 (26) loops, close the knitting in a circle and knit in circular rows, making increases only for raglan bevels.
Note: Once the raglan bevel increases have been done a total of 5 times, continue to increase on the back and front sides on every 2nd row another 10 (15) 19 (30) 28 (28) times, then on every 3rd row. m row 10 (8) 6 (0) 0 (0) times.
At the same time, on the sleeve side, continue to increase in every 2nd row another 10 (6) 13 (15) 4 (3) times, and then in every 3rd row 10 (14) 10 (10) 16 (18) once.
Change circular needles to longer ones when necessary. When all the increases for the raglan bevels have been made, there should be 330 (342) 366 (394) 370 (374) stitches on the needles.
Place the side marks in the middle of the raglan lines (between the two knit stitches).
There should be 94 (100) 106 (116) 114 (114) loops on the back and front, and 71 (71) 77 (81) 71 (73) loops on the sleeves.
Only for sizes XXL and 3XL: then knit only 114 (114) back stitches in straight and reverse rows in stockinette stitch, adding for armholes on both sides in every 2nd row 1 (2) times 2 loops and 1 time 5 loops = 128 ( 132) loops.
Set the stitches aside temporarily. Next, knit only 71 (73) sleeve loops in straight and reverse rows, adding on both sides in every 2nd row 1 (1) times 2 loops and 1 time 5 loops = 85 (87) loops.
Set the stitches aside temporarily. Knit the second sleeve in the same way.
For all sizes: transfer the sleeve loops to an auxiliary thread or knitting needle and then knit the back and front in a single fabric in the round.
Lower front and back
Knit 94 (100) 106 (116) 128 (132) back loops, in place of the sleeve, cast on 6 (10) 12 (14) 16 (24) loops, knit 94 (100) 106 (116) 128 (132) front loops , cast on 6 (10) 12 (14) 16 (24) loops = 200 (220) 236 (260) 288 (312) loops.
Knit in a single piece in the round using stockinette stitch. Make marks on the sides.
At a height of 30 (31) 32 (34) 37 (39) cm, transfer the back loops to an additional knitting needle and then knit only 100 (110) 118 (130) 144 (156) front loops in straight and reverse rows with a 2 by 2 rib.
At the same time, in the 1st row of the elastic band, evenly decrease 2 (0) 0 (0) 2 (2) loops = 98 (110) 118 (130) 142 (154) loops. At a height of 5 cm, bind off all the loops.
Return to the set back stitches and knit in straight and reverse rows, starting from the knit row, as follows: 2 knit stitches, 2 purl loops, 92 (102) 110 (122) 136 (148) knit stitches, 2 purl loops, 2 knit loops .
Knit 5 cm straight according to the pattern. Then knit all the loops with a 2 by 2 elastic band, while in the 1st row of elastic, evenly decrease 2 (0) 0 (0) 2 (2) loops = 98 (110) 118 (130) 142 (154) loops.
At a height of 5 cm, bind off all the loops.
Bottom of sleeve
Transfer the 71 (71) 77 (81) 85 (87) sleeve loop to the sock needles No. 4, cast on an additional 6 (10) 12 (14) 14 (20) loops on both sides = 77 (81) 89 (95) 99 (107) loops.
Knit in the round according to the pattern.
Mark the middle 2 loops in the middle of the sleeve on the inside.
At a height of 3 (3) 2 (2) 2 (2) cm for sleeve bevels, subtract 1 loop on both sides of the marks, while before the marked loops knit 2 loops together with the front stitch, after them - 2 loops together with the front stitch.
Repeat such decreases every 3 (3) 2.5 (2) 2 (2) cm 12 (12) 16 (17) 19 (21) times = 51 (55) 55 (59) 59 (63) loop.
At sleeve height 28-35 (29-36) 30-37 (30-37) 31 -38 (31-38) cm, after completing the 40th row of the pattern, knit the 41st-60th rows.
Then continue knitting the loops of the openwork pattern with purl stitch until the height is 42 (43) 44 (44) 45 (45) cm.
Change the knitting needles to No. 3.5 and knit with an elastic band 2 by 2, while in the 1st row evenly decrease 3 loops = 48 (52) 52 (56) 56 (60) loops. At a height of the elastic band of 5 cm, close the loops.
Assembly
Sew seams under the arms. Along the edge of the neckline, on short circular needles No. 3.5, evenly cast on 124 (124) 128 (128) 132 (132) loops and knit 3 cm in a circle with a 2 by 2 elastic band. Cast off the loops.
