DROPS KID-SILK (75% mohair, 25% silk, 210m/25g)
175-175-200-225-250-300 g, color 44, moonshine
Spokes:
Circular knitting needles DROPS size 5.5 mm, line length 40 and 80 cm.
Circular knitting needles DROPS size 4.5 mm, line length 40 and 80 cm.
Double needles DROPS size 5.5 mm
Double needles DROPS size 4.5 mm
The MAGIC LOOP technique can be used, in which case use circular knitting needles with a line length of 80 cm for all sizes.
Knitting density: 16 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm Note: Needle sizes are a guideline. If there are too many stitches in a 10cm knitted pattern, use larger needles. If there are too few stitches in the 10 cm sample, take smaller needles
EXPLANATIONS FOR KNITTING:
shawl knitting (knitting in rotating rows):
Knit all rows with facial stitches.
1 edge of garter stitch in height = 2 rows with knit stitches.
PATTERN: See diagram A.1. The diagram shows all the rows as they look on the front side of the work.
UNIFORM DECREASES:
To calculate the rhythm of performing uniform decreases, divide the total number of stitches on the needles (for example, 122 stitches) by the number of decreases that need to be performed (for example, 46) = 2.7.
In this example, to decrease, knit together approximately every 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd loops.
PERFORMANCE OF DECREASES FOR THE NECK:
Make decreases for the neckline next to the 3 outer stitches from the middle front.
Decrease at the end of the row on the front side of the work:
Knit until there are 4 stitches left to the neckline, knit the next 2 stitches together, 1 stitch in stockinette stitch and 1 stitch in garter stitch.
Decrease at the beginning of the row on the front side of the work:
Knit 1 stitch in garter stitch, knit 1, knit 2 together with a slant to the left and then knit the row to the end, as before.
Continue working 1 edge stitch in garter stitch and 2 stitches in stockinette stitch from the middle front until the shoulder is completed. Continue knitting the remaining loops according to the pattern as before.
SLEEVE INCREASES:
Start 1 loop before the marker, 1 yarn over, knit 2 loops (the marker will remain between these loops), 1 yarn over. In the next circular row, knit yarn overs with crossed knit stitches so that there is no hole.
TIP FOR CLOSURE LOOPES:
To prevent the closed edge from being pulled, you can use a larger needle size to bind off the stitches. If in this case the edge pulls, during closure you can make 1 yarn over approximately after every 4th loop and close it like a regular loop.
KNITTING DESCRIPTION:
JUMPER, brief description of work:
Knit the product in turning rows, from bottom to top. Sew the parts together as described in the text. Knit the sleeves in the round on stocking/short circular needles. At the end, tie the neckline.
BEFORE:
Cast on 122-134-142-154-174-186 stitches on 4.5 mm circular needles in 2 strands (1 strand DROPS Nord and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk or 1 strand DROPS Flora and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk).
Purl 1 row on the wrong side of the work, then knit on the front side like this:
2 edge stitches in garter stitch (see knitting instructions), * k2, p2 *, repeat stitches between stars until 4 stitches remain, k2, 2 edge stitches in garter stitch.
Continue knitting to a height of 20 cm for all sizes.
Change the knitting needles to 5.5 mm circular knitting needles.
Knit 1 row with knit stitches on the right side of the work and evenly decrease 46-50-54-58-66-70 stitches (see knitting instructions) = 76-84-88-96-108-116 stitches.
Then knit on the front side of the work like this:
1 edge stitch in garter stitch, A.1, until 3 stitches remain, work the first 2 stitches in A.1 (so A.1 will start and end the same) and end with 1 edge stitch in garter stitch.
Continue knitting the pattern. WATCH THE DENSITY OF KNITTING!
When the height of the piece is 47-48-49-50-51-52 cm, close the loops for the armholes on both sides. Cast off stitches at the beginning of each row on each side like this: cast off 3 stitches 1-1-1-1-1-1 times, 2 stitches 1-1-1-1-1-1 times and 1 stitch 0-1-1- 1-2-2 times = 66-72-76-84-94-102 stitches.
Continue knitting according to pattern A.1 until the length of the piece is 59-61-63-65-67-69 cm. Then slip the middle 20-20-20-28-28-28 stitches onto the holder and finish knitting the shoulders separately = 23-26-28-28-33-37 stitches each.
Then decrease for the neckline (see knitting description): decrease 1 stitch 4 times = 19-22-24-24-29-33 shoulder stitches remain.
Continue knitting until the piece measures 66-68-70-72-74-76 cm and bind off all stitches.
Tie the second shoulder as well.
BACK:
Cast on 122-134-142-154-174-186 stitches on 4.5 mm circular needles in 2 strands.
Purl 1 row on the wrong side of the work, then on the right side of the work work like this: 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, * k2, p2 *, repeat stitches between stars until 4 stitches remain, k2, 2 garter stitches . Continue knitting elastic to a height of 20 cm for all sizes.
Change the knitting needles to 5.5 mm circular knitting needles. Knit 1 row on the right side of the work and evenly decrease 46-50-54-58-66-70 stitches = 76-84-88-96-108-116 stitches. Purl 1 row on the wrong side of the work.
Then knit on the right side of the work like this: 1 edge loop in garter stitch, A.1, until 3 loops remain, knit the first 2 loops A.1 (for symmetry of the pattern), 1 edge loop in garter stitch.
Continue knitting the pattern.
When 47-48-49-50-51-52 cm are knitted, bind off the stitches for the armholes on both sides. Cast off stitches at the beginning of each row on both sides like this: cast off 3 stitches 1-1-1-1-1-1 times, 2 stitches 1-1-1-1-1-1 times and 1 stitch 0-1-1- 1-2-2 times = 66-72-76-84-94-102 stitches.
Continue knitting A.1 until the piece measures 64-66-68-70-72-74 cm.
Then cast off the middle 26-26-26-34-34-34 stitches for the neckline and then knit the shoulders separately.
Next row decrease 1 stitch from neck side = 19-22-24-24-29-33 shoulder stitches remain.
Continue knitting until the length of the piece is 66-68-70-72-74-76 cm, and bind off the loops.
Tie the second shoulder as well.
SLEEVE:
Knit sleeves in the round from bottom to top on stocking/circular needles. Then decrease the loops to form the sleeve cap and knit in turning rows.
Cast on 48-48-52-52-56-56 stitches on 4.5mm double strand needles.
Knit 1 round with knit stitches, then rib stitch (= k2/p2).
When 14 cm is knitted, change the needles to stocking needles size 5.5 mm and continue knitting with stockinette stitch.
Knit 1 round with knit stitches and evenly decrease 2-0-2-0-0-0 stitches = 46-48-50-52-56-56 stitches.
Place a marker at the beginning of the round = the middle of the bottom of the sleeve.
Continue knitting in stockinette stitch and AT THE SAME TIME, when 16 cm is knitted, add 1 loop on each side of the marker (see explanation for knitting).
Make such increases a total of 7-8-9-9-9-10 times every 5-4½-4-3½-3½-3 cm = 60-64-68-70-74-76 stitches.
When the sleeve length is 50-49-49-48-45-44 cm, cast on 3 stitches on each side of the marker (=cast off 6 stitches in total) and then knit the sleeve in turning rows.
At the beginning of each row, bind off the loops to form the sleeve cap like this: bind off 2 loops 1 time, 3 loops 1 time, then bind off the remaining loops = 44-48-52-54-58-60 loops.
Sleeve length – 53-52-52-51-48-47 cm. Knit the second sleeve the same way.
ASSEMBLY:
Sew shoulder seams. Sew in the sleeves. Sew side seams, leaving 20 cm slits on each side.
NECK:
Start at one shoulder on the front side of the work and lift approx. 96-108 stitches on 4.5 mm circular needles across the entire neckline (including slip stitches on the front), the number of stitches should be a multiple of 4.
Knit an elastic band (= 2 knits / 2 purls) to a height of 8 cm.
Then close the loops according to the pattern, see the tip for closing loops.
Fold the neckline in half and sew to the wrong side of the product. Make sure that the seam is elastic, otherwise the neckline will be pulled together.
