Knitted pullover “ISABEL”

Knitted pullover “ISABEL” is a wonderful model with cords. The pattern with strands that adorns the round yoke of the pullover symbolizes orchid buds.

Description of the pullover from designer Norah Gaughan

Dimensions:

Chest circumference – 81 (91.5, 101.5, 111.5, 122, 132, 142, 152.5, 162.5) cm,

Length – 57 (57, 58.5, 61, 61, 63.5, 63.5, 66, 67.5) cm,

Sleeve circumference in the armpit area – 31.5 (33, 34.5, 35.5, 38, 40.5, 43, 45.5, 48) cm.

Necessary materials:

Yarn Elsebeth Lavold/KFI Silky Wool Aran (wool/silk/nylon; 95 m / 50 grams per skein) – 8 (9, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15) skeins.

Required tools:

Circular needles No. 3.75 and No. 4.5, lengths 40 cm and 60 cm, sets of 5 double-pointed needles No. 3.75 and 4.5, stitch markers, two additional needles.

Knitting density:

19 loops and 28 rows = 10 cm of stockinette stitch, made with knitting needles No. 4.5;

24 loops = 12 cm, 47 rows = 16.5 cm of plait pattern made with knitting needles No. 4.5.

Notes:

The main part of the pullover and its sleeves are knitted from the bottom edge to the beginning of the armhole. Then they are connected, and then a round yoke is made.

Main part:

Using long circular needles size 3.75, cast on 124 (144, 160, 180, 200, 220, 236, 256, 276) stitches. Join the stitches in a circular row and place a marker for the beginning of the row.

1st round: *2 knit stitches, 2 purl loops; repeat from * to the end of the row.

Repeat this row until the rib height reaches 6.5 cm, adding 0 (0, 2, 2, 0, 0, 2, 2, 0) stitches in the last row - on needles 124 (144, 162, 182, 200, 220, 238, 258, 276) loops.

Change knitting needles to number 4.5.

Next round: 62 (72, 81, 91, 100, 110, 119, 129, 138) knit stitches, place side marker, knit stitches to end of row.

Knit 6 more circular rows using stockinette stitch (knit stitches in all rows).

Circular row of increases: 2 knit loops, add 1 loop from the broach with a slant to the left, knit loops up to 2 loops before the side marker, add 1 loop from the broach with a slant to the right, 2 knit loops, marker, 2 knit loops, add 1 loop from the broach with a slant to the left, knit loops to the last 2 loops, add 1 loop from the broach with a slant to the right, 2 knit loops - 4 loops are added.

Continue knitting in stockinette stitch, repeating every 8th row 6 more times - 152 (172, 190, 210, 228, 248, 266, 286, 304) stitches on the needles.

Continue knitting straight in stockinette stitch until the knitting height reaches 31.5 (31.5, 31.5, 33, 33, 34.5, 34.5, 35.5, 35.5) cm from the cast-on row, finish before reaching 4 (6, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10) loops to the end of the row.

Next round: cast off 4 (6, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10) sts, remove start marker, cast off 4 (6, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10) sts , knit to 4 (6, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10) sts before side marker, bind off 8 (12, 12, 14, 16, 16, 18, 18, 20) sts, removing marker side side, knit stitches to the end of the row - on knitting needles 68 (74, 83, 91, 98, 108, 115, 125, 132) loops for front and back.

Put knitting aside.

Sleeves:

(2 identical)

Using double-pointed needles size 3.75, cast on 40 (40, 40, 44, 44, 44, 48, 48, 48) stitches. Join the stitches in a circular row and place a marker for the beginning of the row.

Knit 7.5 cm with 2x2 elastic (2 knit stitches, 2 purl loops).

Change knitting needles to number 4.5.

Knit 7 circular rows using stockinette stitch.

Circular row of additions: 2 knit loops, add 1 loop from the broach with a slant to the left, knit loops to the last 2 loops, add 1 loop from the broach with a slant to the right, 2 knit loops - 2 loops are added.

Continue knitting in stockinette stitch. Repeating these additions in each 8 (8, 8, 8, 6, 6, 6, 4, 4) row another 9 (10, 11, 10, 13, 15, 15, 18, 20) times - on knitting needles 60 (62, 64, 66, 72, 76, 80, 86, 90) stitches.

Knit straight in stockinette stitch until the knitting height reaches 45.5 cm from the beginning of the row, ending 4 (6, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10) stitches short of the end of the row. Cast off 8 (12, 12, 14, 16, 16, 18, 18, 20) sts, removing marker, knit stitches to end of row on needle size 52 (50, 52, 52, 56, 60, 62, 68, 70) loops. Cut the thread, leaving a long end.

Yoke:

Using long circular needles No. 4.5, connect the parts as follows:

Round join: 52 (50, 52, 52, 56, 60, 62, 68, 70) knit stitches left sleeve, place marker, 68 (74, 83, 91, 98, 108, 115, 125, 132) knit stitches front, place marker, 52 (50, 52, 52, 56, 60, 62, 68, 70) knit stitches for right sleeve, 68 (74, 83, 91, 98, 108, 115, 125, 132) knit stitches for back – on the needles 240 (248, 270, 286, 308, 336, 354, 386, 404) loops.

Place a start row marker.

Only for size 81 cm:

Knit 2 circular rows with knit stitches.

Only for size 91.5 cm:

Knit 1 round row with knit stitches.

Circular row of decreases: 15 knit stitches, [2 knit stitches together, 29 knit stitches] – 7 times, knit 2 loops together, 14 knit stitches – 240 stitches on the knitting needles.

Only for size 101.5 cm:

Knit 1 round row with knit stitches.

Circular row of decreases: 4 knit stitches, [2 knit stitches together, 7 knit stitches] – 29 times, 2 knit stitches together, 3 knit stitches – 240 stitches on the knitting needles.

Knit 1 round row with knit stitches.

Only for size 111.5 cm:

Knit 3 circular rows with knit stitches.

For all sizes:

Mark the central 24 front loops with markers.

1-2 shortened rows: knit stitches to the left center front stitch marker, turn knitting, perform a double loop, purl stitches to the right center front stitch marker, turn knitting, perform a double loop.

3-4 shortened rows: knit stitches up to 3 loops before a double loop, turn knitting, perform a double loop, purl loops up to 3 loops before a double loop, turn knitting, perform a double loop.

Repeat rows 3-4 5 more times.

Next row (knit): knit stitches to the beginning of the row marker.

Next round: knit stitches, knitting double stitches as one stitch.

Row start shift:

Count 96 back stitches from the left center front stitch marker, moving the beginning to this point by knitting stitches to it or joining the cut thread. Place a unique marker at the start point of the round, then place a marker every 24 stitches throughout the row (the center front stitch markers will remain in place).

Start knitting pattern:

If necessary, change the knitting needles to shorter ones.

1st round: repeat pattern of 24 stitches 10 (10, 10, 10, 10, 11, 11, 12, 12) times per row.

Continue knitting the pattern up to the 47th row inclusive - 100 (100, 100, 100, 100, 110, 110, 120, 120) stitches on the knitting needles.

Change knitting needles to number 3.75.

Only for sizes 132 and 142 cm:

Circular row of decreases: 2 knit stitches, [2 knit stitches together, 6 knit stitches] – 13 times, 2 knit stitches together, 2 knit stitches – 96 stitches on the knitting needles.

Only for sizes 152.5 and 162.5 cm:

Circular row of decreases: 2 knit stitches, [knit 2 loops together, knit 4 loops] – 19 times, knit 2 loops together, knit 2 loops – 100 stitches on knitting needles.
