Cocoon jacket with Cocoon-Like knitting needles

Comfortable oversized - this is how you can call the game of knitting in different directions for a women's jacket in the shape of a cocoon. The cocoon is presented in one size.

Size:

Chest circumference – 157 cm,

Length – 78.5 cm.

Necessary materials:

Cascade Yarns Longwood yarn (100% wool; 175 m / 100 grams per skein) – 11 skeins.

Required tools:

Circular needles No. 5, length 60 cm and 90 cm, additional circular needles No. 5.

Density:

24 stitches and 26 rows = 10 cm of textured pattern.

Notes:

First the central back panel is knitted. Then loops are cast along the long side of this panel for the right side and along the opposite side for the left side.

For the fourth back segment, stitches are cast on along the bottom edge of the left/center back/right panel gather as shown in the pattern.

The lower parts of the sides are sewn together to form armholes.

Finally, the bottom edge is tied with an elastic band.

Center back panel (1):

Cast on 16 stitches on the needles. Tie 40.5 cm according to the central pattern with strands. Close the loops.

Right side (2):

On the right side, cast on and knit 106 stitches along the side of the center panel 1.

Row 1 (purl): 4 knit stitches (slanted edge version 1), 50 lace pattern stitches, 32 texture stitches, 20 first texture stitches.

Continue knitting in the established order until 200 rows of the pattern with cords and openwork have been completed, ending with the 8th row of this pattern. At this stage there are 110 stitches on the needles (8 slanted edge stitches) and the length of this segment is 77.5 cm from the cast-on line.

Move the stitches onto a spare needle.

Left side (3):

On the right side, cast on and knit 106 stitches along the opposite edge of the center panel.

Row 1 (purl): 32 texture stitches, first 20 texture stitches, 50 cable and lace pattern stitches, 4 knit stitches (sloped edge version 2).

Continue knitting in the established order until the same number of rows have been completed as for the first part. Move the stitches onto a spare needle.

Lower backrest (4):

Place markers 12 inches from each edge of the top. These markers highlight the central 89 cm for the position of the lower back.

On the front side, cast on and knit 180 stitches between markers.

1st row (purl): repeat 5 times 32 texture stitches, first 20 texture stitches.

2nd row (front): knit in the established order, only knit the last 4 loops as 2 front loops and 2 purl loops (instead of a tourniquet on 2 loops and 2 purl according to the pattern).

Continue knitting in this way until the height of segment 4 reaches 35.5 cm from the cast-on line. Place the stitches onto the stitch holder.

Completion:

Sew the seams according to the pattern at a distance of 16.5 cm from each edge, forming an armhole.

Bottom edge elastic:

Place all stitches on long circular needles - 400 stitches.

Next row (purl): all purl loops, decreasing [2 loops knit together purl] - 3 times on each strand of 4 loops and 1 time on each seam, and evenly decreasing 6 loops - a total of 20 loops are decreased, on knitting needles 380 loops.

1st row (knit): first 2 textured ribbing stitches, repeat 34 times, 11 textured ribbing repeat stitches, last 4 textured ribbing stitches.

Rows 2-8: knit according to the textured rib pattern with openwork.

Rows 9-16: Knit textured rib.

Close all loops.
