Loose sleeveless vest with openwork trims.

knitted vest

Yarn of different shades and textures creates a melange effect when knitted in two threads. Thanks to this simple technique, the smoothly knitted sections of this sleeveless vest look more expressive. But the main emphasis is on broad
openwork strips along the edges of the product

Sleeveless sizes: 38-40 (42-44, 46-48).

pattern

You will need: 200 (250; 250) grams of gray yarn 1, consisting of 80% wool, 20% silk; thread length 266 meters in 50 grams and 80 (100; 100) grams of light gray yarn 2, consisting of 60% mohair, 40% silk; thread length 240 meters in 20 grams; short and longer circular needles No. 6; long circular needles No. 7.

ATTENTION: the product is knitted in 2 threads (1 thread of each type of yarn).

Openwork pattern (knitting in the round): the number of loops is a multiple of 5. Knit according to the pattern. It shows odd and even rows of circular knitting. Repeat the repeat in width, in height - from the 1st to the 6th row.

Facial surface (knitting in the round): knit stitches only. Knit stitch (knitting in rows in forward and reverse directions): knit rows - knit stitches, purl rows - purl loops.

Rubber (knitting in the round): the number of loops is a multiple of 5. Knit alternately 2 purl, 3 knit.

Decorative decreases from the right edge: edge, knit 2 loops together with a slant to the left (= slip 1 loop, as in knitting, knit the next loop and pull the removed loop through the knitted one).

Decorative decreases from the left edge: Knit the last 2 stitches of the row before the edge stitch together.

Knitting in short rows: In the front and back rows, knit loops to the indicated place, yarn over, turn and knit in the opposite direction. To prevent holes from forming at the turning points, when subsequently knitting loops, knit the yarn over together with the next loop.

Knitting density of sleeveless vest: 22 loops by 28 rows = 10 by 10 cm, knitted in stockinette stitch using needles No. 7.

ATTENTION: from the bottom edge to the beginning of the armholes, the product is knitted in the round as a single piece.

Description of knitting

On longer circular needles No. 6, cast on 270 (290, 310) stitches in 2 threads and knit in the round for the bottom bar in an openwork pattern.

After 7 cm = 26 rows from the cast-on row, switch to needles No. 7 and continue working in stockinette stitch.

After 23.5 cm = 66 rows from the bottom bar to form armholes on the first 135 (145, 155) loops, continue knitting the back in rows in forward and reverse directions, temporarily set aside the remaining 135 (145, 155) loops of the front part.

Simultaneously with the beginning of separate knitting, decrease on both sides (see Decorative decreases) to bevel the armholes 1 time in the next 2nd row, then 6 times in every 6th row (8 times alternately in every 4th row and in every 6th row). m row; 10 times alternately in every 4th row and in every 6th row) 1 loop = 121 (127, 133) loops on the needles.

After 39.5 cm = 110 rows (41.5 cm = 116 rows; 43.5 cm = 122 rows) from the bottom bar, knit to form shoulder bevels in short rows, without finishing, * 1 time 3 loops 4 times 2 loops from * repeat 2 more times, then do not finish 1 (2, 3) more times, 3 loops each.

After 50.5 cm = 142 rows (53.5 cm = 150 rows; 56.5 cm = 158 rows) from the bottom bar on all 121 (127; 133) loops, perform 2 more rows of stockinette stitch, and after 51.5 cm = 144 rows (54.5 cm = 152 rows; 57.5 cm = 160 rows) from the bottom bar, temporarily leave all loops at 36 (39, 42) outer loops on both sides form shoulder bevels, the middle 49 loops form the edge of the neckline.

Transfer the remaining 135 (145, 155) front stitches to working needles and continue working.

At the same time, at a height of 42.5 cm = 120 rows (45.5 cm = 128 rows; 48.5 cm = 136 rows) from the bar, leave the middle 29 loops for the neck temporarily and finish both sides separately.

To round the neck, decrease from the inner edge (see Decorative decreases) in every 2nd row 10 times, 1 loop.

After 50.5 cm = 142 rows (53.5 cm = 150 rows; 56.5 cm = 158 rows) from the bottom bar on the shoulder loops, perform 2 more rows of the front stitch and close the loops at the same height as on the back. Finish the second side symmetrically to the first.

Assembly

Turn the front part and back part wrong side out and leave the shoulder loops = 36 (39, 42) loops purl together and bind off.

For the binding, transfer the remaining 49 loops of the back neck and the remaining 29 loops of the front onto shorter circular knitting needles No. 6, casting on 16 loops between them along the edges of the neck and knitting on all 110 loops in the circle with an elastic band.

If the binding is 2 cm wide, close the loops according to the pattern. For the straps, cast on the edges of the armholes using shorter circular needles No. 6 for 75 (85, 95) stitches and knit in the round with an openwork pattern. After 7 cm = 26 rows of stitches, close with knit stitches.
