Light blue pullover with all-over diamond pattern

A knitted women's wool blend pullover with dropped shoulders is made with a beautiful braid weave creating a continuous diamond-shaped pattern.

Dimensions: SML XL.

Bust: 42 44 46 48 cm.

Front and back width: 96 100 104 108 cm

Length of the product: 50 53 56 59 cm.

Sleeve length at inseam: 45 48 51 54 cm.

You will need: Lane Mondial “Gap” yarn (45% merino wool, 5% alpaca wool, 50% microfiber; 750 m/250 g) blue color 2 3 3 3 skeins of 250 g each. Knitting needles No. 3.5 and No. 4, tapestry needle.

Knitting density: 29 p. x 25 r. = 10 x 10 cm, knitted with a “Braid” pattern on knitting needles No. 4.

Patterns

“Braid” pattern (the number of loops is a multiple of 12 + 8 + 2). Knit according to the pattern, repeating from the 1st to the 32nd r. until the specified length is reached.

Elastic band 2 x 2. Knit alternately knit 2, purl 2.

Elastic band 1 x 1. Knit alternately k1, p1.

Description of knitting

Attention. For sizes 44, 46 and 48, when starting to knit with the “Braids” pattern according to the pattern, you should center it so that the pattern is not too shifted to the right or left.

Back. On knitting needles No. 3.5, cast on 150 (154:158:162) sts and knit 4 rows for the placket. Italian way and 24 rub. elastic band 1 x 1 (= 9 cm).

Switch to knitting needles No. 4 and continue knitting with the “Braids” pattern, while decreasing evenly in the 1st row. 10 p.

Then on both sides add every 6th r. 10 x 1 p. and in every 8th p. 8 x 1 p. = 176 (180:184:188) p.

When the height of the part is 50 (53:56:59) cm from the start of work, close all the loops.

Before. Knit similarly to the back, but with a deeper neckline.

When the height of the piece is 42 (45:48:51) cm from the beginning of work, close off the middle 36 stitches for the neckline and then knit both sides separately.

To round the cutout along the inner edge on both sides in every 2nd r. close 1 x 4 p., 1 x 3 p., then 1 x 2 p. and 6 x 1 p.

After 50 cm from the start of work, bind off the remaining 55 (57:59:61) stitches of each shoulder.

Sleeves. Using knitting needles No. 3.5, cast on 66 (70:74:78) stitches for each sleeve and knit 4 rows for the sleeve placket. Italian way and 28 rub. elastic band 2 x 2 (= 10 cm).

Switch to needles No. 4 and continue knitting with the “Braid” pattern, evenly adding 1 p. 44 p. = 110 (114:118:122) p.

After 45 (48:51:54) cm from the start of work, bind off all loops.

Assembly. Sew one shoulder seam.

Neck trim. Using knitting needles No. 3.5, cast on 150 sts along the edge of the neckline (66 sts from the back and 84 sts from the front) and knit 10 r. rubber band 1 x 1 and 2 r. Italian way (= 4 cm).

Close off the loops using a tapestry needle.

Assembly. Sew the second shoulder seam. Open the front and back. Pin the top of the sleeve to the side edges, aligning the middle of the sleeve with the shoulder seam. Cast on the loops on the sides: 55 (57:59:61) sts from the front side and 55 (57:59:61) sts from the back side. Sew sleeve loops and cast-on loops. Sew on the second sleeve in the same way. Sew the side seams of the product and the sleeve seams.
