Jacket with openwork leaves

knitted jacket

Rowan's Kidsilk Haze yarn makes such a wonderfully fluffy knit, and Sarah Hutton chose it to create the filigree see-through design on her cardigan. This cropped-sleeve style combines lace rib with lace leaf motifs on the front and back. The finishing touch is a cute hollow cord bow at the neckline.

Broach: remove 2 loops one by one, like knit stitches, then thread the left knitting needle into the removed loops from left to right behind the front walls of these loops and knit both loops together with the front one behind the back wall.

Knit 2 loops together with a tilt to the left: Slip 1 stitch, knit 1, then pull it through the slipped stitch.

Knit 3 loops together with a tilt to the left: Remove 1 loop, knit 2 stitches together and pull through the removed loop.

Next row (= purl row): knit according to the pattern until the end of the row, evenly

inc 3 (1: 3: 1: 3) sts = 89 (99: 109: 119: 129) sts.

Switch to needles No. 4.5 and knit like this:

1st row (front row): perform the 1st row of the right openwork pattern on the next 23 (28: 33: 38: 43) loops, perform the 1st row of the “Leaves” pattern according to the pattern on the next 15 loops, perform the 1st row of central lace pattern on next 13 stitches, work 1st row of "Leaves" pattern on next 15 loops, work 1st row of left lace pattern on next 23 (28: 33: 38: 43) loops.

openwork pattern on the next 13 loops, perform the 2nd row of the “Leaves” pattern according to the diagram, perform the 2nd row of the right openwork pattern to the end of the row.

Armholes

Continue knitting in pattern, cast off 4 (5: 6: 7: 9) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows = 81 (89: 97: 105: 111) stitches.

Then in each row decrease 1 loop on both sides 3 (3: 3: 5: 5) times, then in every 2nd row 2 more

(3: 3: 3: 4) times 1 loop = 71 (77: 85: 89: 93) loop.

Next, knit without decreasing according to the pattern until the armhole height is 19 (21: 23: 24: 25) cm (last row = purl row).

Shoulder bevels

Continue knitting in pattern, cast off 8 (10: 11: 12: 13) stitches at beginning of next 2 rows,
