EXPLANATIONS FOR KNITTING:

STRIPES:
See diagram A.1.

pattern

TIP FOR KNITTING STRIPES IN THE CIRCLE:
To accurately change the color of the stripe, knit like this:
Change the thread and knit 1 round row with a new color. Knit the first loop of the next circular row like this: pick up the loop that is under the first loop and throw it on the left knitting needle. Knit this stitch together with the next stitch. The transition to a new color with this knitting method will be less noticeable.

BONUS ON THE FRONT SIDE OF WORK:
Increase on the left after the marker:
Using the left knitting needle, lift the broach between the 2 loops of the bottom row, lift it in front and knit it with a front loop behind the back half-loop.
Increase on the right to the marker:
Using the left knitting needle, lift the broach between the 2 loops of the bottom row, lift it from the back and knit it with a knit stitch behind the front half-loop.

INCREMENTS ON THE WRITTEN SIDE OF THE WORK:
Increase on the left to the marker:
Using the left knitting needle, lift the broach between the 2 loops of the bottom row, lift it from the back and knit a purl loop behind the front half-loop.
Increase on the right after the marker:
Using the left knitting needle, raise the broach between the 2 loops of the bottom row, lift it in front and knit a purl loop behind the back half-loop.

DECREASES ON SLEEVES:
Decrease 1 loop on each side of the marker like this: knit until there are 3 loops left before the marker, knit 2 loops together with a slant to the right, knit 2 (the marker will remain between these 2 loops), knit 2 loops together with a knit slant to the left.

KNITTING DESCRIPTION:

SWEATER, brief description of work:
Knit the back in turning rows, from top to bottom on circular knitting needles to the height of the armholes. Raise the stitches for the shoulders and increase for the neckline, then knit in front of the turning rows on circular needles to the height of the armholes. Combine the front and back and knit the body in the round on circular needles. Pick up stitches for the sleeve, knit the sleeve cap in turning rows on circular needles, then knit the rest of the sleeve in the round on short circular/sock needles. At the end, tie the neckline.

BACK:
Cast on 39-39-43-43-47-47 stitches using 4mm circular needles and color off white. Purl 1 row.

Mark 3 loops on each edge with markers. Markers should always mark 3 stitches along the edges.

Knit in stockinette stitch in turning rows, AT THE SAME TIME add 1 loop BEFORE the marker at the beginning of the row (right side of the work) and 1 loop AFTER the marker at the end of the row - see explanations for knitting.

In the next row (wrong side of the work) make the same increases - see the explanation for knitting.

Make increases in each row, on the front and back sides of the work, a total of 34-38-40-44-46-50 times. WATCH THE DENSITY OF KNITTING!

After all the increases on the needles there are 107-115-123-131-139-147 stitches and the piece is approximately 12-14-14-16-16-18 cm from the cast-on edge.

Continue knitting in off white until 4-5-5-6-7-8 cm of the armhole have been knitted. Then knit A.1 in turning rows on all stitches, repeating the pattern in height.

Knit like this until 15-16-16-17-18-19 cm of the armhole have been worked and A.1 has been knitted a total of 3 times in height.

Cut the thread, slip the stitches onto the holder and knit before.

BEFORE:
Start from the right shoulder (when the product is worn),

On right side pick up 34-38-40-44-46-50 sts over shoulder sts in color off white. Purl 1 row on the wrong side of the work. Knit in stockinette stitch 6 cm.

Then add 1 stitch for the neckline, next to the 3 stitches at the end of each knit row (see knitting instructions), a total of 6-6-7-7-8-8 times.

After the last increase on the needles there are 40-44-47-51-54-58 stitches. Cut the thread and slip the stitches onto the holder after the last increase on the right side of the work.

Then knit the left shoulder.

On the right side of the work, pick up 34-38-40-44-46-50 sts on the left shoulder. Purl 1 row on the wrong side of the work. Knit in stockinette stitch 6 cm.

Then add 1 loop for the neck, next to 3 loops at the end of the beginning of the front row (see explanation for knitting), a total of 6-6-7-7-8-8 times.

After the last increase on the needles there are 40-44-47-51-54-58 stitches.

Work the next purl row like this: knit 40-44-47-51-54-58 stitches for the left shoulder, cast on 27-27-29-29-31-31 stitches for the neckline at the end of the row and knit 40-44-47-51- 54-58 RH sts = 107-115-123-131-139-147 sts.

Continue in stockinette stitch until 14-15-17-18-19-20 cm of armhole are worked, then work A.1 until piece measures 25-26-28-29-30-31 cm and 3 stripes are knitted, as on the back. Next, combine the front and back and knit the body.

BODY:
Continue knitting in stripes and knitting 107-115-123-131-139-147 front stitches, cast on 6-6-10-10-14-18 undercut stitches, knit 107-115-123-131-139-147 back stitches and cast on 6-6-10-10-14-18 stitches for second undercut = 226-242-266-282-306-330 stitches.

Continue working A.1 in the round until the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58-60cm measured from top of shoulder to front, ending after a couple of rows in off white.

Knit 1 round with knit stitches and evenly add 22-26-26-26-30-30 stitches = 248-268-292-308-336-360 stitches. Change the knitting needles to 3 mm circular knitting needles and knit an elastic band (k2/p2) 6 cm in off white color. Close the loops a little loosely. Sweater length – approx. 56-58-60-62-64-66, if measured from the top of the shoulder to the front.

RIGHT SLEEVE:
Using 4 mm circular needles and color off white, on the right side of the work, pick up 32-34-34-36-38-40 sts from the bottom of the armhole up the back to the shoulder, and then 53-55-59-61-63-65 sts from the shoulder down front to bottom of armhole = 85-89-93-97-101-105 sts.

Place 1 marker in the middle of the row, measure the sleeve from this marker.

Start on the wrong side of the work and knit in stockinette stitch with turning rows of 1-1-2-2-3-4 cm. Then close the row into a circle and knit in the round using short circular/hosiery needles. Place 1 marker at the beginning of the round (bottom of the sleeve). When 3-3-3-4-4-4 cm are knitted, knit according to pattern A.1.

AT THE SAME TIME, when 4-4-5-5-6-7 cm are knitted from the marker, decrease 2 loops at the bottom of the sleeve (see explanation for knitting).

Decrease every 3-3-2½-2½-2-1½ cm, for a total of 12-12-14-14-16-16 times = 61-65-65-69-69-73 stitches.

Knit a sleeve length of 42-41-40-40-39-38 cm. Finish after a couple of rows with the color off white.

Knit 1 round row with knit stitches and evenly add 7 stitches = 68-72-72-76-76-80 stitches.

Change the needles to stocking needles size 3 mm. Knit rib (k2/p2) 6 cm.

Close the loops a little loosely according to the pattern. Sleeve length – approx. 48-47-46-46-45-44 cm. Sew the bottom of the armhole, see pattern.

LEFT SLEEVE:
Using 4 mm circular needles and color off white, on right side of work, pick up 53-55-59-61-63-65 sts from bottom of armhole up front to shoulder and then 32-34-34-36-38-40 sts from shoulder down along the back to the bottom of the armhole = 85-89-93-97-101-105 loops. Mark the middle of the row with a marker and measure the sleeve from this marker. Knit the left sleeve the same way as the right one.

NECK:
Start from the shoulder and pick up 120-140 stitches along the right side of the work using short circular needles 3 mm and color off white. The number of loops should be a multiple of 4. Knit an elastic band (K2/P2) in a 10 cm circle. Bind off the loops. If you wish, you can fold the elastic in half and secure the flap with a few stitches on the wrong side of the work.
