A wide short pullover made of silk ribbon yarn is more reminiscent of a poncho. The separately knitted bottom strips are sewn on at the end.
Size: 38 - 42
You will need: yarn (100% silk; 100 m/50 g) - 500 g beige-gray; knitting needles No. 5.5; circular knitting needles No. 5.5; hook No. 4.5.
Attention: Due to the large number of loops, we recommend knitting a pullover on circular knitting needles in rows in forward and reverse directions.
Pattern 1: front stitch = front rows - front loops, purl rows - purl loops.
Pattern 2: openwork pattern (initially for 20 loops) = knit according to the pattern. It shows front and back rows, including edge rows.
Constantly repeat rows 1-30.
Knitting density: pattern 1 - 16 p. x 26 r. = 10 x 10 cm; pattern 2 - 16 p. x 26 r. = 10 x 10 cm; width of the border at its widest point = 17 cm.
Attention: knit the pullover in one piece without shoulder seams, starting from the front. Knit borders separately across. The knitting density of borders refers to the left edge of the work. Along the right edge of the work, the pattern is slightly pulled together due to garter stitch.
Description of work:
Cast on 104 stitches on circular needles and knit with pattern 1.
After 12.5 cm = 32 rows from the starting row, cast on 1 x 22 new stitches for sleeves on both sides = 148 stitches.
After 28.5 cm = 74 rows from the initial row, close off the middle 24 stitches for the neckline and continue working separately on both sides.
To round along the inner edge, cast off 1 x 2 stitches and 3 x 1 stitches in every 2nd row.
After 34.5 cm = 90 rows from the initial row, the shoulder line is reached (57 p. each). We recommend attaching labels here on both sides. Then connect both halves using an intermediate set of 34 loops and continue knitting the back on all 148 loops.
After 22 cm = 58 rows from the shoulder line, close on both sides 1 x 22 sts = 104 sts.
After 34.5 cm = 90 rows from the shoulder line, bind off all the loops.
Border: cast on 20 stitches on knitting needles
and knit with pattern 2. After 161.5 cm = 420 rows from the starting row (measure along the left edge), bind off all loops.
Sleeve border (2 parts): Cast on 20 stitches on the knitting needles and knit with pattern 2.
After 57.5 cm = 150 rows from the starting row (measure along the left edge), bind off all loops.
Assembly: sew side seams and bottom seams of sleeves. Sew the initial row of the border with a closed edge and sew the border with the right side edge to the bottom edge of the pullover, fitting the border to the width of the bottom. Sew the sleeve borders in the same way.
Crochet the edge of the neckline with 1 round row in a “crawfish step” (= st. b/n, perform in the direction from left to right).
