Charming pullover with a cross braid

A striking decoration of this jumper is a spectacular braid that runs across the back, chest and along the sleeves. It consists of 4 parts and is knitted across. The arrow on the pattern indicates the direction of knitting. After the parts are ready, they should be connected in the center of the front and back.

Russian sizes: 42/44 (46/48) ((50/52)).

Data for size 46/48 are given in brackets (), for size 50/52 - in double brackets (()).

If only one value is specified, it applies to all 3 sizes.

Jumper length is approximately 60 cm.

You will need: yarn - (75% wool, 25% polyamide; 125 m/50 g) 600 (650) ((700)) g; knitting needles No. 3.5 and 4.5; auxiliary knitting needle - 1 pc.

Elastic band (knitting needles No. 3.5): knit alternately 2 front loops, 2 purl loops.

Basic pattern (knitting needles No. 4.5): even number of loops:

1st row (front): knit alternately – 1 knit stitch, 1 purl loop;

2nd and 3rd rows: knit loops according to the pattern;

4th row (purl): knit alternately – 1 knit stitch, 1 purl loop;

5th and 6th rows: knit loops according to the pattern.

Due to the odd number of rows, after every 3 rows the loops are shifted.

Repeat from rows 1 to 6.

Diagonal stripes to the left and Diagonal stripes to the right (knitting needles No. 4,5): the number of loops is a multiple of 5 + 3. Knit according to the patterns:

1st row (front): knit alternately - 3 purl loops, 2 knit loops, finish with 3 purl loops.

In each next row, shift these 5 stitches by 1 stitch, as shown in the diagram.

Repeat in height from the 1st to the 10th rows.

Facial surface: front rows - front loops, purl rows - purl loops.

Pattern with braids (knitting needles No. 4.5):

Start with 1/2 braid on 15 sts of side A or B according to the diagram:

In purl rows, knit loops according to the pattern.

Add loops as described and gradually include them in the pattern with braids B or A until the braid strip consists of 30 stitches.

Repeat from the 1st to the 10th row.

Garter stitch (knitting needles No. 3.5): knit and purl rows - knit stitches.

In circular rows: alternately 1 circular row - purl loops, 1 circular row - front loops.

Knitting density:

main pattern (knitting needles No. 4.5): 21 sts x 28 r. = 10 x 10 cm;

On knitting needles No. 3.5, cast on 37 sts and start with 1 purl. row: 1 chrome. p., 13 p. p., 2 persons. p., * alternately 2 persons. p., 2 p. n. **, repeat from * to **, 1 chrome. P.

From the front row of the loop, distribute the trace. way: 1 chrome. p., 20 p. elastic, 15 p. pattern with braids A, 1 chrome. P.

After 4 cm, switch to needles No. 4.5 and distribute the trace from the front row of the loop. way: 1 chrome. p., 2 p. persons. satin stitch, 18 p. diagonal stripe to the right, 15 p. pattern with braids A, 1 chrome. P.

Continue knitting in this distribution, while bevel the sleeves from the left edge in the 40th (30th) ((20th)) p. from the beginning add 1 p. = 38 p., in every 10th p. add 9 times (10 times) ((11 times)) 1 p. each and include these loops in the pattern with braids B = 47 (48) ((49)) p.

At a total height of 47 (43.5) ((40)) cm from the left edge in every 2nd r. add 1 time 2 p., 1 time 4 p., 1 time 6 p., 1 time 8 p., 1 time 10 p. and 1 time 48 (47) ((40)) p. = 128 p.

Next knit in the next. loop distribution: 1 chrome. p., 2 p. persons. satin stitch, 18 p. diagonal stripe to the right, 30 p. pattern with braids A and B, 76 p. main pattern, 1 chrome. P.

At a total height of 75 cm (after the 10th row of the pattern), close all loops.

Left back and right front: knit symmetrically on the right side of the back and the left side of the front.

On knitting needles No. 3.5, cast on 37 sts and start with 1 purl. row: 1 chrome. p., * alternately 2 persons. p., 2 p. p.**, repeat from * to ** 10 times = 20 p., k2. p., 13 p. p., 1 chrome. P.

Assembly:

For the bottom edge of the jumper, use knitting needles No. 3.5 to raise 90 (102) ((114)) sts (= out of 3 x 2 sts) - knit 4 rows in garter stitch and knit all stitches.

Sew shoulder and sleeve seams to 62cm, leaving 26cm of neckline width.

For the neck strap, on knitting needles No. 3.5, raise approximately 108 sts (out of 4 3 sts), knit 4 rounds. Rows of garter stitch and purl all stitches.

Sew side seams and bottom sleeve seams.

Headband:

Head circumference: 52-58 cm.
Approximately 11 cm high and 24 cm wide.

You will need:

100 g mustard yarn (75% wool, 25% polyamide, 125 m/50g);
Number 5 knitting needles and one auxiliary knitting needle.

Large pearl pattern: knit with double thread.

1st row: alternately 1 persons. p., 1 p. P.
3rd row: alternately purl 1, knit 1.
In purl. rows of loops knit according to the pattern.
Repeat in height from the 1st to the 4th row.

Knitting density:

double thread on knitting needles No. 5: 16 sts and 24 r. = 10 x 10 cm.

Description:

Cast on 20 sts and knit 24 cm.

Next cross the loops in the row: leave 10 stitches on the auxiliary needle before work, knit 10 stitches, then knit 10 stitches from the auxiliary needle.
Knit another 24 cm on all loops, then connect the open loops of the last row to the cast-on row using a knitted or buttonhole stitch.
