Patterns for knitting dresses
Openwork pattern: the number of loops is a multiple of 6 + 2 + 2 chrome. Knit according to pattern 1, which shows the front rows. In the purl rows, knit all loops and yarn overs purlwise, out of 2 yarn overs in a row, knit the 1st yarn over, purl the 2nd yarn over. Start with 1 edge and loop before the repeat, repeat the repeat constantly, finish with a loop after the repeat and 1 edge. Repeat rows 1–8 constantly.
Leaf pattern: the number of loops is a multiple of 9 + 1 + 2 chrome. Knit according to pattern 2, which shows the front rows. In purl rows, purl all loops and yarn overs. Start with 1 edge stitch and loops before the repeat, repeat the repeat all the time, finish with loops after the repeat and 1 edge stitch. Repeat rows 1–32 constantly.
Attention! Inside the repeat in height, the number of loops changes. All calculations are made based on the initial number of loops.
Facial surface: front rows - front loops, purl rows - purl loops.
Underlined decrease of 1 loop: on the right edge - chrome, knit 2 loops together; on the left edge - knit the last two loops before the edge together with a slant to the left (slip 1 loop like a knit stitch, knit 1, then pull it through the removed loop), edge.
Underlined decrease of 2 loops: on the right edge - chrome, knit 3 stitches together; on the right edge - knit the last 3 loops before the edge together with a slant to the left (slip 1 loop as a knit stitch, knit 2 loops together as a knit stitch and pull through the removed loop), edge.
Knitting density. Openwork pattern: 16.5 p. and 25.5 r. = 10 x 10 cm; Pattern of “leaves”: 17.5 p. and 24 r. = 10 x 10 cm; Front stitch: 17.5 p. and 26 r. = 10 x 10 cm.
Description of knitting a dress
Back: cast on 82 (94) 100 stitches on knitting needles and knit 1 purl row. This series is not taken into account in subsequent calculations. Then for the bar, continue working on 5.5 cm = 14 rows with an openwork pattern, while in the last purl row add 2 stitches (subtract 1 stitch) add 2 stitches = 84 (93) 102 stitches. Continue working with the “leaf” pattern " After 60 cm = 144 rows from the bar, knit in stockinette stitch. After 4.5 cm = 12 rows from changing the pattern, subtract 1 x 2 p. for the armholes on both sides, then subtract 4 x 1 p. in every 2nd row and 2 x 1 p. in every 4th row. = 68 (77) 86 p. After 21.5 cm = 56 rows (23 cm = 60 rows) 24.5 cm = 64 rows from changing the pattern, close the middle 32 (35) 38 p. for the neckline and finish both sides separately. To round the inner edge, subtract 1 x 2 stitches and 1 x 1 stitch in every 2nd row. After 24 cm = 62 rows (25.5 cm = 66 rows) 27 cm = 70 rows from changing the pattern, close the remaining rows 15 (18) 21 shoulder stitches.
Before: knit like a back, but for a deeper neckline after 17.5 cm = 46 rows (19 cm = 50 rows) 20.5 cm = 54 rows from changing the pattern close the middle 26 (29) 32 p., then in each 2 On the th row, underline, decrease 1 x 2 p. and 4 x 1 p.
Sleeves: Cast on 46 stitches for each sleeve and knit 1 purl row. Then, for the strap, continue working on 5.5 cm = 14 rows with an openwork pattern, while in the last purl row add 2 sts = 48 sts. Continue working with the “leaf” pattern. After 20 cm = 48 rows (18.5 cm = 44 rows) 18.5 cm = 44 rows from the bar, add 1 x 1 p. to bevel the sleeves on both sides, then in every 10th row 3 x 1 p. ( in every 6th row 6 x 1 p.) in every 4th row 9 x 1 p. with stockinette stitch = 56 (62) 68 p. After 33.5 cm = 80 rows from the bar, continue working with stockinette stitch. After 4.5 cm = 12 rows from changing the pattern, close the sleeves on both sides for piping 1 x 2 p., then subtract 1 x 2 p. in every 2nd row and 6 x 1 p., in every 4th row row 2 x 1 p. and again in every 2nd row 5 x 1 p. and 2 x 2 p. (in every 2nd row 1 x 2 p., 15 x 1 p. and 2 x 2 p.) in every 2nd row 2 x 2 p., 13 x 1 p. and 3 x 2 p. After 19 cm = 50 rows from changing the pattern, close the remaining 14 (16) 18 p.
Assembly: Connect the remaining loops of the front and back shoulders with a knitted seam. Tie the edge of the neckline with 1 round row of st. b/n and “crawfish step” (= art. b/n perform in the direction from left to right). Sew in the sleeves, sew side seams and sleeve seams.
